RIP Tranny Paul
Just found out that DJ, nightlife celebrity and friend 'Tranny' Paul Nicholls has died after a well-documented struggle with bowel cancer. It's sad, but we here at MENERGY hope he's at peace now he's no longer got the pain to deal with.
Rest in peace, liebling.
x
Lady Munter.
**** EDIT ****
I listened to this tune a couple of times today and it really struck a chord. That was before I heard about Paul's passing, but now I know it makes it all the more fitting. Paul, this one's for you - I just know you're gonna make one FIERCE entrance when you get to heaven!
The Niallist xx
[This might have to be a Paul-based Menergy Anthem from now on]

More Heathers Madness!! Have you seen the Facebook Event Page yet? Ah go on, have a wee look: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=152586514757087
Special guest DJ TEAMY has just submitted his "No I'm A Veronica" mix which will be going online very soon, so keep your eyes, ears and mouth peeled for that. In the meantime wallow in the re-assurance that this is getting played:
Human Centipede Make-Up Tutorial
Glow Pink Stah is a crazy funny video blogger from California who does some excellent make-up video parodies. We first saw her with this clip teaching you how to look like a hooker form Pandora:
She recently followed this up with an excellent hommage to the modern horror classic The Human Centipede:
We loves dis bitch!! Check out her Emo and Ganguro make-up tutorials too, not mention her drag queen persona Coco Chandelier. I recently caught the Human Centipede on a horror cinema binge with friends here in Manchester (more news on that soon) but if you don't know what the Human Centipede is - what planet do you live on?!?

Che Camille at the Fringe
A few weeks ago Che Camille had their debut fashion show at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival. Both Lady Munter and the Niallist performed as part of the show, to some RAVE reviews no less! Fashion blog Bee Wait For No One had this to say:
"It really was the extra touches that really set this apart from other fashion shows on the fringe. The Niallist performing "Rock the Shop" was pretty magnificent....and I can't lie, a wee cheeky Ru Paul reference from the uh-mazing Lady Munter (YOU BETTER WORK!) kind of made it for me."
Read the rest of the review here.
For more photos (and info on the show) check out the Che Camille website. With 14 designers and 10 models involved, it was truly epic, and as usual Camille pulled it off with aplomb. The show was streamed live over the internet, and you can watch it in it's entirety right here:

Menergy HEATHERS Party Fri 17th Sept
We fuckin LOVE Heathers at Menergy - the film, not the people (though they are pretty cool too) - so much so in fact that our next event is going to be a Heathers Party at the Flying Duck on Friday September 17th.
So why do we love it? It's funny, it's dark, it's sexy, it's classy and it has one of the best screenplays ever. EVER! Winona Rider and Christian Slater are both dynamite - the chemistry between them is so electric we assume they were a couple at this point - but the script is the real star. It shits on Tarantino in terms of delicious quotability, and has added so much new terminology to the modern lexicon as to be postively Shakespearean. Oh yes! "What's your damage?", "How very", "fuck me gently with a chainsaw"... the list goes on and on. It's the best written teen/school movie of all time!
If you have your own personal favourite Heathers quote, come and stick it up on the Facebok event wall for the party - which can be found here:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=152586514757087
And if you have not seen Heathers before - well, did you have a brain tumour for breakfast?! Get your eyes and ears to Youtube and clear the next 90 minutes of your life - you'll be glad you did!

Menergy Anthem: "Crocodiles in the Sky (Fred Ventura & Colombo Remix)" Parallax Corporation
This disco gem seems to have been overlooked by history, but that's what Menergy is all about. That and being cheap. Parallax Corporation are none other than Italo behemoths I-F and Intergalactic Gary, and this remix featuring vocals by Italo pioneer Fred Ventura, will make you swoon. Almost as much as I-F's beautiful eyes.

Luke Howard on Beats in Space
Our friend the lovely Luke Howard from the legendary Horse Meat Disco was on the equally legendary Beats in Space hosted by the equally lovely Tim Sweeney last night. Phew, what a mouthful. Anyway, Luke played a great set of downtempo disco, and was joined on the show by Manchester's cosmic guru Balearic Mike. Check it out!
